    AECOM is looking for a dynamic leader to usher our Kansas City, MO based sports practice into the next chapter of industry leading excellence. The right person will bring a combination of entrepreneurialism, holistic leadership, and passion for leveraging interdisciplinary capabilities towards making a better world through the communities and cultures supported by integrated sports and entertainment projects.

This large practice focuses it’s work on everything from performance and development facilities to primary competition venues, ranging anywhere from small collegiate clients to the largest of professional leagues and franchises. Services include architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism, and planning (inclusive of landscape design), strategy +, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, and cost and program management. This diverse team assists our clients from strategy through project realization, creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create.

    Job Summary/Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the growth, profitability, and strategy for AECOM Buildings + Places, Kansas City based Sports Practice.
    • Drives execution of tactical business plans in collaboration with regional business line leader.
    • Works with the regional business line leader, global market sector leaders and account management leads to grow a profitable business by developing and implementing location specific growth plans.
    • Represents AECOM as a leader in the Sports architecture industry.
    • Provides industry leadership across the sports market.
    • Manages and leads client relationships.
    • Provides guidance and coaching to business development, account management and other Kansas City staff.
    • Is a member of the region management team, focused on optimizing the overall performance of the region.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Design Architecture or related field plus twelve (12) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including four (4) years in leadership.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's Degree in Design Architecture
    • Proven record of developing new Buildings and Design for clients in the collegiate and professional sports and recreation market.
    • Extensive experience in the collegiate athletics market.
    • Ability to develop new business in the market place.
    • Ability to recruit and attract top industry talent.
    • Core competencies in professional staff development and retention are critical
    • Ability to perform individually in a competitive environment
    • Superior ability to satisfy clients and manage company’s association with them
    • Member of Buildings and Design Professional or Technical Society

    • Offered rate of compensation (Missouri locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $190,000 - $260,000.
