    Job Description

    AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Science Intern to be based in our Denver, CO office. This is a full-time position for Spring/Summer 2023 employment.

    This position is expected to begin June/July 2023, with an expected duration of 3-4 months.

    ** Job Overview:**

    The Science Intern will support our Remediation team in both the field and office. We are seeking motivated candidate who would like to develop and advance in a full-time environmental remediation career. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, reliable and have good interpersonal communication skills.

We provide advisory and technical services to help clients clean up and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost-effectively manage residuals and wastes.

    _ Job Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:_

    • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
    • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
    • Supports investigation and remediation projects for various clients.
    • Reviews chemistry analytical data
    • Under direct supervision, conducts field investigations, monitoring and assessments.
    • Assist with the field investigation preparation, including preparing project safety plans.
    • Assist with post-field data entry, database management and report writing.
    • Intern III – completion of third year of qualified study.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    _ Minimum Requirements:_

    • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program for Geology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related
    • Must have completed 3 or more years of study in relevant degree program
    • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

    _ Preferred Qualifications:_

    • Understanding of basic analytical chemistry.
    • Strong writing abilities.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with computer applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, database, and CADD).

    Additional Information

    • Relocation is not offered for this position.
    • Sponsorship is not available for this position.
    • This is an in-office/hybrid position. Candidates are expected to reside in Denver, CO or relocate if necessary.
    • Offered rate of compensation (Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $18.58 - $32.52.
