    Job Description

    AECOM Construction Management (CM) is looking for a talented sustainability manager that has a personal and professional interest in executing sustainability on large construction projects in the New York City market. This individual will be responsible for sharing expert knowledge and providing detailed green building certification strategies with our clients and project teams. This is a great opportunity for a candidate interested making a positive impact on some of the most significant construction projects in NYC. This position will be based in New York City, NY and offers a hybrid work schedule to include a combination of project site, office and remote arrangements.

    _AECOM CM includes AECOM Tishman, AECOM Hunt, Leeding Builders Group, and Federal Construction Services. _

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

    • Lead the successful implementation of green building certifications on construction projects including LEED, WELL, Fitwel, Envision, Sites, and Zero Carbon.
    • Develop and implement construction sustainability plans including construction waste management, construction indoor air quality, and construction stormwater.
    • Develop and maintain forms, templates, and procedures required for the successful delivery of green building certification, including packing applications for submittal to certifying agency and response to comments.
    • Lead green building certification coordination meetings, both internal and client-facing.
    • Sub-contractor submittal review for sustainability and coordination with the project team.
    • Ability to understand and interpret construction documents both drawings and specifications.
    • Participate in the pre-construction process and advise on construction phase feasibility, cost, and schedule impact for specific strategy / credit achievement.
    • Engagement with certification agencies, USGBC, GBCI, IWBI, ILFI, etc. and provide feedback on version changes to programs.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, architecture, sustainability, or another relevant area with strong focus in sustainability/environment + four (4) years of experience delivering green building certification or demonstrative equivalency of education and / or experience.
    • LEED Accredited Professional

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • WELL Accredited Professional
    • Fitwel Ambassador
    • Advanced degree with a focus on sustainability or related practices
    • Experience with embodied carbon accounting
    • Experience in construction administration and/or management
    • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and sustainability-focused regulations
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

    Additional Information

    • Relocation assistance and/or per diem is not offering for this position.
    • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. 
    • Offered rate of compensation (NYC locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $116K - $170K.
