    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer III to be based in Phoenix, Arizona.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for performing engineering activities to support planning, designing, construction, maintenance, and improvements of transportation infrastructure such as roadway, transit systems and utilities.
    • Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment, including designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and final working drawings, with minimal support from an experienced engineer.
    • Assists in the preparation of technical reports and project specifications
    • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule.
    • Assists with development of construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
    • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

    ** MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**

    • BA/BS + 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

    ** PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
    • Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation, and/or other civil engineering-related software (Civil 3D, OpenRoads)
    • 4+ years of relevant experience working on rail and/or transit projects
    • Arizona Professional Engineering license (PE), or ability to obtain within one year
    • Very Familiar with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point)
    • Previous work experience with engineering firms, contractors or DOTs involved in design, construction and/or management of highways, transit (LRT, BRT, streetcar or commuter rail) or other transportation-related projects.
    • Familiarity with local design standards and agencies
    • Familiarity with developing 3D models using civil design software
    • Familiarity with preparing technical specifications.
    • Experience providing guidance to entry-level engineers
