    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking an Environmental Planner III to join our professional Environmental Planning and Permitting group in our Denver, CO office.

    Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

    • Preparation of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, Findings of No Significant Impacts, and Environment Impact Statement sections.
    • Project management including development and tracking schedules, and coordination with technical staff and clients.
    • Tasks include occasional site visits, research, data collection, and technical writing.
    • Assist in supporting marketing pursuits, preparation of proposals, and formulating cost estimates.
    • Support senior staff with business development
    • Attend and/or present at project and public meetings and assist in preparing meeting materials and compiling meeting results, including PowerPoint presentations, and other materials.
    • Manage small and medium-sized projects and serve as a deputy project manager or task lead on larger, more complex projects.
    • Oversee the work of junior staff and mentor others.
    • Work directly with clients and subconsultants.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BA/BS in Environmental Studies, Planning, or related field + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
    • Valid Driver's license required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Masters degree in environmental studies or related field.
    • Experience as Project Manager and/or Deputy Project Manager on environmental planning projects (minimum 3 years).
    • Experience preparing and/or managing NEPA environmental documents with extensive knowledge of current regulations and guidance (minimum 3 years).
    • Understanding of regional programs and permits relating to natural/water resources planning and coastal zone management.

    Additional Information

    • Due to the nature of this role, U.S Citizenship is required.
    • Offered rate of compensation (Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - 95,000.
