    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a Architecture Designer to be based in Oakland, CA

    The AECOM Oakland office, as part of the West Coast Transit and Rail group, is looking to hire a recently graduated Architectural Candidate with a bachelor’s degree and 1+ of experience and is interested in taking exams towards licensure in California.

    This position is expected to begin in July 2023

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • A technically oriented construction-document experienced architectural candidate, with a number of Revit and/or AutoCAD construction document sets for medium sized projects in their experience.
    • Experience in steel frame, precast/tilt-up concrete and/or CMU construction types.
    • Ability to prepare construction document-level building plans, sections, and details, under the direction of a supervising architect.
    • Interested to develop his architectural skills on the conceptual through final design of large transit and rail projects for multiple Transportation agencies nationally and internationally. These projects include building structures and public spaces.
    • Strong creative design and time management skills.
    • Good customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to be flexible and team oriented, with a demonstrated ability to both give and receive direction.
    • Prepare designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and detailed construction/bid documents.
    • Identify discrepancies in developing documents and collaborate with team members to develop alternative solutions.
    • Ensure conformance with standards, established architectural practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design.
    • Understand and develop knowledge of codes and technologies appropriate to the project under development including assisting in the preparation of building code analysis.
    • Review shop drawings and requests for information (RFIs).
    • Implement and follow Company Quality Management System procedures.
    • Meeting with clients, both internal and external, to discuss design requirements for new construction, alterations, or repairs.
    • Site visits to gather necessary measurements, dimensions, and other existing conditions for design.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelors degree in Architecture or related field.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 1+ years of experience
    • Well versed in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, and Enscape
    • Well versed in Microsoft Office suite
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Good analytical skills
    • Interest in LEED or Envision accreditation also a plus.

    • Relocation is not available for this position.

    • Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $26.00-35.00
