    AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern for our office in Houston, TX to support our Water Resources and Coastal practice in the Houston Metro Area. This position is expected to start in January 2023

    AECOM is one of the nation's leading engineering firms with opportunities to work with a wide variety of clients on water resources and coastal planning, engineering, and design projects. The successful candidate will have relevant experience/interest in one or more of the following areas: hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater management, green infrastructure / low impact development, water quality modeling / monitoring, coastal engineering and analyses, coastal science, and civil infrastructure design. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing specific tasks and limited portions of broader assignments and will receive close supervision, guidance, and mentoring from experienced engineers in the office.

    The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study. Intern 2 – completion of second year of qualified study.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursing a bachelor’s degree in in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field with the intent to continue enrollment after an internship. Must have completed 2 years of study in the applicable program. Valid US driver's license

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience/interest in one or more of the following areas: hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater management, green infrastructure / low impact development, water quality modeling / monitoring, coastal engineering and analyses, coastal science, and civil infrastructure design. Knowledge of the following software: AutoCAD, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS.

    Additional Information: Relocation assistance is not provided for this role. Due to the nature of the role US citizenship is required.
