    Job Description

    AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer I (CCR) to join our well established and growing Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) / Geotechnical department.     The job responsibilities for the position will include, but are not limited to:

    • Builds analytic and design skills.
    • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
    • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
    • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
    • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
    • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
    • Computer-aided design support for solid waste facilities, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, ash pond closures, earthen dams, impoundments, and related facilities,
    • Computer-aided design and drafting of site layout, drainage, roadway, grading, and utility systems using tools including, but not limited to AutoCAD, Civil3D, WaterCAD, and HydroCAD.
    • Supports report preparation, site reconnaissance, and communications with multi-disciplinary AECOM project team
    • Understanding and applying regulations to develop standards and theories necessary to carry out project design and permitting work
    • Organize and prepare reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other topographical and hydrologic data to plan and design projects
    • Incorporates schedules, budgets, constructability, and other project criteria into Civil design and layouts
    • Conduct occasional site reconnaissance to examine field conditions, drainage and erosion control needs, as-built conditions
  • Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • BA/BS + 0 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
    • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
    • 1+ years of progressive engineering and project management experience along with project experience in Civil design, CCR or Geotechnical Engineering projects related to solid waste disposal, CCR management, dams and impoundments.
    • Business Development and Client Relationship Management experience
    • Experience as a technical contributor on general civil and/or remediation projects.
    • Ability to proactively assist in technical efforts and project team staff.
    • Experience on large scale projects.
    • Experience with storage tank, manufactured gas plant, renewable energy, landfill, and/or air projects.
    • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.
    • Construction 30 certification
    • Significant experience working in the capacity of a project manager and client contact.
    • Experience and confidence to work independently to produce high quality deliverables on time and on budget.

    • Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (North Carolina locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000.
