    Job Description

    AECOM is actively seeking an experienced, highly talented Ecologist for immediate employment in the Conshohocken, PA office.

    The successful candidate will work in an interdisciplinary, team-oriented environment. This position provides unlimited career growth potential while working with a team comprised of a variety of staff and project managers in support of AECOM’s clients.

    There are opportunities to work on large-scale projects or projects further afield than the typical project range if the candidate is interested.

    Responsibilities

    • Data management, risk assessment and statistical analysis; data preparation and management such as organizing, tracking, and summarizing environmental data and their sources.
    • Manage a variety of risk assessment projects with varying levels of complexity and size, manage scope, schedule, and budget for risk assessment projects.
    • Perform statistical evaluations, exposure and toxicity assessments, and risk characterization for projects governed by state and federal programs.
    • Preparation of reports and other technical documents summarizing risk assessment procedures and results
    • Utilizes scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
    • Ability to develop business development activities, including proposals, pre-qualifications, and relationship building with clients and prospective clients.
    • Provide ecological risk assessment expertise, develop technical approaches, and interact with regulatory agencies.
    • Provide mentoring, guidance, and coaching to new or less experienced staff, and recruit and develop junior risk assessment scientists.
    • Working knowledge of statistical software (e.g., R, ProUCL, etc.)

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree and of 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
    • Valid U.S. Driver's license is required.
    • U.S. Citizenship is required

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology
    • 8+ years of environmental consulting experience.
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience directly related to ecological risk evaluations and associated submittal requirements and environmental multi-media environmental regulatory compliance (e.g. CERCLA /Superfund, RCRA, etc.)
    • Participation in developing effective business proposals for providing competitive, high-value environmental services.
    • Ability to act independently on technical matters pertaining to ecological risk assessment and regulatory compliance with little to no supervision.
    • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills; extremely proficient in technical writing; highly effective organization and multi-tasking skills.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple demands, think strategically, and successfully lead multiple simultaneous projects.
    • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgment, and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Experience with probabilistic ecological risk assessments, biostatistics, and whole effluent toxicity (WET) testing.

    Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation in Conshohocken, PA will be based on individual education, qualifications and experience. The salary range for this position is $64,000 - $90,000.
