Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to be based in Austin, TX

The job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects.
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
• Approves and signs off on work.
• Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
• Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
• Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
• Participates in development of technical proposals.
• Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• BA/BS + 8 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in in Civil Engineering or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering is highly preferred
• 10+ years of bridge design experience overall
• Texas PE, or can acquire certification within 90 days of hire
• Knowledge of TxDOT Bridge Design Manual (LRFD) & TxDOT Bridge Detailing Manual
• Capable of performing advanced engineering tasks without guidance
• Experience with MicroStation, Bridge Geometry System (BGS), PGSuper, STAAD-PRO (or similar), Bentley LEAP Bridge Concrete, spColumn, LPile, MDX
• Experience developing and monitoring design schedules
• Bridge Task Lead experience on TxDOT projects
• Must have an interest in the design of complex transportation structures
• Advanced knowledge of bridge structural systems
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Design of and preparation of plans, specifications and estimates for transportation structures
• Interest in working with large design teams in a fast-paced environment
