    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer/Deputy Project Manager to be based in our Oakland Office.

    _ JOB SUMMARY:_

    The individual will provide Civil Engineering/Deputy Project Management (DPM) services for a mix of Civil/Structural and/or Systems projects related to Rail/Transit Projects. They will perform technical design and DPM responsibilities for multi‐disciplinary projects in varying stages of planning, design, procurement, or construction.

    _ JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:_

    • Perform day‐to‐day project management responsibilities for multi‐disciplinary projects in varying stages of planning, design, procurement, or construction.
    • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
    • Report and escalate to management as needed.
    • Set-up and maintain project files; perform ongoing document control and file management.
    • Conduct project progress meetings and handle day-to-day coordination. Take meeting minutes, prepare to-do lists from meetings, and distribute meeting minutes as directed.
    • Provide procedural, and administrative support to Project Staff.
    • Reserve/schedule conference rooms and attend weekly progress status meetings with the design teams and stakeholders.
    • Track, review, and update project schedules based on input from design teams and other stakeholders.
    • Assist with creation, and ongoing updates of Project Execution Plan, Contracting Plan, and Risk Management Plan
    • Provide schedule updates and prepare biweekly and monthly reports.
    • Review the project deliverables for completeness and route the deliverables to Subject Matter Expert (SME). Manage comment resolution.
    • Perform civil engineering duties in the preparation of engineering design plans and specifications.
    • Perform engineering design calculations; prepare engineering design drawings and specifications, calculations, and construction cost estimates; and provide design support during construction.
    • Inspect equipment or facility; analyze and provide recommendations for engineering solutions, repairs, modifications, or maintenance.
    • Prepare, review and respond to engineering submittals, drawings and specifications prepared by outside agencies for construction projects adjacent to facilities.
    • Prepare and coordinate the preparation of construction feasibility studies and cost estimates; define scope and develop conceptual plans; prepare civil engineering design project proposals for management review and approval.
    • Review contractor submittals for conformance to drawings and specifications; interpret plans and specifications; prepare and direct needed design contract revisions and change orders.

    _ MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :_

    • BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 5 years of experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Structural Engineering
    • Familiarity with bay area transit agencies is strongly preferred
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, working with others in team setting and communicating directly with the task manager and other staff
    • Ability to physically perform site visits along the project site during non-revenue hours, including walking along uneven surfaces during all weather conditions.

    • Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $88,000 - $162,000.
