    Job Description

    AECOM Tishman is seeking a Construction Intern to be based in New York, New York.

    This position is expected to begin in August 2024.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.
    • Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of science alternatives.

We employ a diversified preconstruction and construction management staff of structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers; architects; technology specialists; scheduling and cost control personnel; and construction estimators and accountants. We provide expert consultation and guidance in all phases of a building project, from master-planning, preconstruction options evaluation and decision-making, to design review, estimating, and scheduling, through procurement, construction, and occupancy. AECOM Tishman’s staff manages all consultants and contractors on a project, representing client interests throughout the project cycle. In total, AECOM Tishman has built more than 900 million square feet – including the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, One World Trade Center in New York.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited 4-year university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a similar field with the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating.
    • Candidate must have completed two years of study.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Ability to follow direction and manage specific tasks to completion.
    • Ability to learn new technologies and concepts.
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
    • Willing to work a variety of tasks alone or as part of a team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Additional Information

    • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
    • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
