    Job Description

    AECOM Transit & Rail Major Projects & Programs Group is seeking a creative, highly talented and experienced mid-level Transportation/Transit Planner III for immediate employment in AECOM's Los Angeles, California Office. 

     

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Perform a variety of transit planning studies, such as feasibility studies, alternatives analyses, and NEPA/CEQA environmental clearance.

    • Conduct task management and project management for complex planning and conceptual engineering studies.

    • Perform technical calculations for analyzing transportation projects, including capital and operating cost estimates, ridership forecasts, operations metrics, and other performance measures.

    •  Research and recommend priorities, schedules, and funding sources to implement transportation improvement plans.

    • Conduct research and prepares statistical reports on land use, physical, social and economic issues.

    • Provide professional planning assistance to clients on varied land use and transportation projects.

    • Develop plans, studies and analyses on regional basis.

    • Support in the environmental analysis for environmental resource areas, such as natural/water resources planning, community development, hazard mitigation, coastal zone management, and others.

    • Perform field inspections to gather data

    • Conduct meetings and presents reports and other findings to staff with advisory boards and elected officials.

    • Work with GIS and other planning software.

    • Write and present formal and technical reports, working papers and correspondence.

    • Assist with preparation of proposals for company pursuits.

    • Assist with mentoring and training entry level staff.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience in Transportation Planning for urban transit systems

    • Proficient with excel spreadsheets, word processing and standard office software

    • Ability to work well in teams in an open office environment

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • GIS Experience

    • Masters Degree in Planning or a related field

    • Data Analysis, including visual graphics

    • Experience in NEPA/CEQA Environmentally Clearing Transportation Projects

    • Experience with Capital Planning for Transit Projects
