    Our Middleton, WI transportation department is looking for a mid-Level Roundabout Design Engineer/ Project Manager for employment in the Middleton, WI office. ABOUT AECOM TRANSPORTATION AECOM’s Transportation practice is Ranked #1 globally by Engineering News Record, and includes architecture, planning, design, engineering, project/program management, construction management, asset management, systems integration, and technology advisory services. The candidate will need to be a growth minded leader who can work collaboratively with others and mentor staff in a fast pace setting to support business development, marketing and communications, capture management, project delivery and strategy. The ideal person must be able to verbally and visually communicate their ideas clearly and convincingly to peers and senior leadership.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Perform plan and contract document preparation associated with roadway infrastructure improvements.
    • Develop plans and calculate quantities for transportation improvements.
    • Design and oversee the development of roadway geometrics, alignments, roadside design, drainage design, stormwater management, pavement design, traffic staging, utility coordination, and permitting.
    • Design roundabouts in Wisconsin as a Qualified Roundabout Designer.
    • Provide support to the highway, bridge, traffic, and transportation planning staff.
    • Write technical reports including design study reports, intersection control evaluations, and pavement design reports.
    • Perform client meetings to discuss project requirements, explain work, etc.
    • Prepare presentations for meetings.
    • Manage projects and oversee entry level staff.
    • Use construction knowledge to make accurate design choices.
    • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
    • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
    • Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
  • Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in transportation design and / or construction plus 8 years of demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
    • Valid Professional Engineer License
    • Wisconsin DOT Level 1 or higher Qualified Roundabout Designer certificate

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

    • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
    • Valid Professional Traffic Operations Engineer License
    • Project Manager Experience
