    Job Description

    DWMPMO (a joint venture of AECOM and DB Sterlin) provides program management services to the Chicago Department of Water Management (DWM). As part of the DWMPMO program team, supporting the DWM Capital Improvement Program, this position will report to the Records Manager. The Records Section’s primary responsibility is to update DWM documents related to the City of Chicago’s water distribution infrastructure. The Records Section coordinates with field inspectors, design engineers and DWM employees to ensure accurate data is posted for all employees to view. During this process, the Records Section will gather, review and analyze Record Drawing submittals to ensure that DWM documents are accurately updated and posted. Additionally, the Records Section is responsible for creating and maintaining cells and a cell library using MicroStation V8i for the Record’s Section specific use.

    This role requires previous MicroStation experience, having GIS experience would be preferred. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are necessary since a significant portion of the position involves emailing and phone conversations with other staff members. The position is on site five days a week in downtown Chicago.

    General duties of the CAD Specialist include the following but are not limited to :

    • Update Water Service Plats and/or Water Atlas Pages using established DWM standards and DWMPMO Records Standards
    • Coordinate with field inspectors, design engineers and DWM staff to verify projects were constructed according to plan
    • Update DWM records related to water main pipe installations, meter installations and removals, water service installations, water service terminations, field corrections, and other miscellaneous DWM requests
    • Search and examine historic Record Drawings for consistency and updates
    • Assemble documentation for the Record Manager’s review

    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines set by the program leadership team

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Working knowledge of MicroStation® V8i and GIS
    • Technical training involving CADD-based review/design
    • Experience with utility infrastructure work
    • Proficiency with Microsoft tools, including MSWord, Outlook and Excel

    Additional Information

    Offered rate of compensation for (Illinois locations) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $64,000 - 85,000.
