    Job Description

    AECOM has an opening for a PROGRAM MANAGER to support our growing Energy Business Line. The Program Manager will support the development and manage the implementation of the federal Electric Vehicle Support Equipment program.

    The successful candidate should be a dynamic, self-directed, detail-oriented individual with an excellent understanding of distributed energy resources, electric vehicles, energy system decarbonization, and alternate delivery project processes. The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver innovative energy projects and solutions. The candidate should be capable of making decisions independently under the guidance of senior staff.

     

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Cross functional responsibility for business development and program management activities associated with electric vehicle infrastructure projects, decarbonization, and distributed generation.
    • Manage or provide oversight on a portfolio of projects for the strategy, planning, design and installation of electric vehicle infrastructure throughout the US.
    • Support projects and programs through complete life cycle including the feasibility phase, preliminary and detailed design, construction, start-up, and commissioning
    • Coordinate interdisciplinary engineering and design activities with property owners, local utilities, construction partners, subcontractors, etc
    • Coordinate day-to-day aspects of projects including quality of work product, client communications, scheduling.
    • Coordinate and provide oversight to engineering and other technical resources to develop proposals, technical reports, submissions
    • Deliver effective sales presentations and response to questions and inquiries from industry professionals in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Develop and maintain client relationships across the portfolio
    • Generate new Task Orders with federal clients
    • Interact with government or public officials and/or executive level clients
    • Mentor project managers and early career staff
    • Estimate, negotiate, and manage project costs.
    • Making decisions independently
    • Leading or participating in development of technical proposals.
    • Supporting business development activities.
    • Participating in and presenting engineering work at client meetings.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • BA/BS in Engineering, Construction or closely related field with 8 years of relevant experience within the federal government, engineering, energy efficiency or building efficiency industry or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
    • Experience with financial, technical and political aspects driving both the energy efficiency, distributed energy resources, smart energy and utility industries and energy infrastructure development
    • Experience with utility energy efficiency, renewable energy, and decarbonization programs.
    • Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience managing a team of engineers for delivering quality products within scope and budget
    • P.E., M.B.A., C.E.M., or LEED AP® certification (or on track to receive) is desirable.
    • Strong presentation skills, including presentation material design (PowerPoint)
    • Strong writing skills and ability to communicate complex processes or ideas simplistically
    • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
