AECOM is looking for a Government relations Intern for Fall 2023 to Spring 2024 with potential for Summer 2024.

We are looking for a collaborative Government Relations – Research and Database Intern for our Washington, DC office. This role will report to the Vice President of Government Relations providing support in monitoring infrastructure legislation and funding information, particularly as it relates to federal and state grant programs, and updating AECOM’s relevant internal systems. This role may also be called on to provide support to the Government Relations Team such as:

• Research and analysis of Congressional hearings, legislations and actions;
• Research, as needed, across business lines, general and project-specific, and assistance in preparing any necessary reports and presentations of such research;
• Support in updating data for the Fund Navigator grants database; and
• Additional Government Relations team support as needed and driven by the skillsets and interests brought to the role.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Graduate school student, currently enrolled in a graudate program with a focus on public policy or a related field
• Must have completed 1 year of study.

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in US infrastructure policy and legislation
• Strong writing and research skills with attention to detail
• Initiative to take ownership and run tasks to completion
• Strong organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills
• MS Office suite proficiency with ability to work with datasets in excel
• Knowledge of the US political processes and governmental structure
• Adaptability to a flexible schedule
• Familiarity with Power BI

• This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Washington DC. The selected candidate must be available to work in Washington DC on a scheduled basis.

• Offered rate of compensation (Washington DC locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $21.37/hr - $37.40/hr.
