    Job Description

    AECOM Hunt is seeking an entry level Safety, Health & Environment Specialist to join our Hunt Construction group.

    This position will be supporting our Lake Orion, MI project site location.

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Under direct supervision, performs basic and routine duties in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with the ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements.
    • Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and health programs, systems and procedures.
    • Supports the evaluation of Contractors safety plans and performance.
    • Assists in the review of Pre-Task plans / Job Hazard Analysis.
    • Assists in implementing the client/site safety management process.
    • Assists in monitoring hazards and diseases that could be present in the work area.
    • Works with others to investigate accidents, injuries and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace.
    • Participates in recommending improvement in processes, design, procedures, and equipment to minimize hazards.
    • Participates in employee training, emergency preparedness and assures the quality of programs.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BA/BS Occupational Safety or similar curriculum or relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

    Preferred Qualification:

    • Part of an SH&E related program at school.
    • Industrial facility construction project safety management experience (internships or otherwise)
    • Experience reviewing Pre-Task plans / Job Hazard Analysis
    • Performing Safety Observation Tours
    • Evaluating Contractors safety plans and performance
