    Job Description

    AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Science Intern III for employment in our Cincinnati, OH office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line. This part-time position is expected to begin May/June 2023, with an expected duration of 3-4 months. The estimated weekly hours are 20-30.

We are seeking motivated candidate who would like to develop and advance in a full-time environmental remediation career.  Job Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

    • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. 
    • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study
    • Supports investigation and remediation projects for various clients.
    • Under direct supervision, conducts field investigations, monitoring and assessments.
    • Assist with the field investigation preparation, including preparing project safety plans.
    • Assist with post-field data entry and report writing.
    • Intern III – completion of third year of qualified study.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related 
    • Must have completed 3 years of study in relevant degree program
    • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required
    • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

    • Candidate must be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.
    • Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects.
    • Positive attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative. 
    • Candidate must be proficient with basic computer programs( i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Ability to travel to various job sites locally.
    • Collect and evaluate environmental data in field and office settings.
    • Support project staff with carrying out fieldwork (water, soil and/or air sampling) is considered an asset.
    • Strong writing abilities.

    Additional Information

    • Travel is required for this position.
    • Relocation is not offered for this position. 
    • Candidates may be asked to submit an MVR (motor vehicle record) screening at the time of hire.
