Position: Radiologic Technologist / Limited Scope X-Ray Tech
Role: To perform all diagnostic x-rays and assist the physician in the care and treatment of patients.
Reports to: Center Administrator / Physician on Duty
Primary Responsibilities:
Greet patient, ensure that the patient has removed all jewelry and metal objects, is wearing the appropriate medical gown and is not pregnant
Explain procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation
Perform all diagnostic x-rays including patient communication, preparation, and positioning
Perform basic verification and quality control checks on radiographic and film processing equipment
Apply radiation protective measures and appropriate care for the patient during the examination
Prepare images for reading by physician as well as contact any additional physicians if a second opinion is needed
Maintain a neat and clean working environment and ensure all supplies have been ordered and stocked
Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, arranging for repairs as needed
Perform triage of newly registered patients, direct patients flow and ensure exam rooms are set up based on patient initial complaint
Aid physician with prescribed patient treatments in accordance with approved standards, policies, procedures and protocol as necessary
Maintain complete and accurate documentation and ensure each room is cleaned after each patient encounter
Perform POC (Point of Care) diagnostic tests and assist with other laboratory testing and analysis
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
