    FINANCIAL ADVISOR TRAINEE

    AFIN Family Wealth management is a firm specializing in holistic financial planning for individuals and businesses. Our goal is to make financial planning understandable and accessible by offering personalized, hands-on service. We educate our clients about financial concepts and products, and take the mystery out of investing, insurance, estate conservation, and preserving wealth.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The financial advisor in this entry level advisory role is responsible for managing existing and new client relationships and assisting in formulating and implementing financial plans. They are also responsible for supporting the new business development efforts of senior advisor, and for developing their own new business development network. The role of financial advisors is to help clients identify and achieve their financial goals. Specific duties include meeting with clients and maintaining client relationships, creating and implementing customizable financial solutions for individuals and businesses with respect to financial, business, and estate planning, and analyzing relevant information in light of specific client considerations, including risk and asset management, education funding, retirement and tax considerations, business succession plans, legacy planning, and charitable bequests.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Preferred 2 years' experience as a Registered Sales Assistant
    • Life and Health insurance license
    • Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65)

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

    • Results-driven, highly motivated, self-starter who possesses integrity, a strong work ethic and the desire to help others plan for and protect their financial futures
    • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat and MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook
    •  Excellent customer service, communications and organizational skills 
    • The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneous 
    • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
    • Positive attitude, high energy and professional demeanor
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to exercise good judgment by recognizing urgency and setting priorities
    • Must pass criminal and credit background checks
    • Ability to quickly understand new concepts and learn new technology and systems
    • Knowledge of investment products, policies & procedures is required
    • Ability to draw upon past/present experiences and acquaintances to develop markets and build upon them to sustain long-term relationships

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assuming co-advisory/service relationship with a number of existing clients
    • Taking lead regarding routine and follow-up contact and providing service to such clients
    • Assessing the financial needs of the clients
    • Assisting in creating and implementing financial recommendations
    • Coordinating follow-up workflow on new clients
    • Develop new clients through personal prospecting efforts, prior client relationships, and development of referral sources 
    • Conducting regular review meetings with clients
    • Maintaining a current working knowledge of relevant techniques including, tax regulations, risk management products and investment vehicles
    • Executing financial transactions, as required
    • Helping people and businesses build secure futures
    • Comply with all industry rules and regulations
