    DETAILS OF THE OPPORTUNITY:

    This is a key position that will work closely company business units and leadership with implementing tax strategies related to State & Local tax, research, M&A, restructuring and tax controversy. You'll play an important role in building relationships with business teams and work collaboratively with Compliance and Reporting department on various projects during the year.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Proactively identify state income tax planning opportunities and support to business leaders to effectively incorporate state income tax planning with business activities and opportunities.

    • Provide M&A due diligence support regarding state income taxes.

    • Support state income/franchise tax audits

    • Perform tax research related to state income tax issues for tax planning matters.

    • Provide guidance to the Tax Reporting and Tax Compliance teams, including subject matter expertise on technical tax issues outside of core transaction support work.

    • Review and present oral and written recommendations and conclusions regarding the results of analysis and research for state income tax planning matters.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Undergraduate degree in Tax/Accounting, MST in tax or JD a plus

    • 6-8 years of state and local tax experience in a multinational corporate environment or Big 4 public accounting

    • Good communication skills required

    • Independent problem solving, strategic & creative thinking and interpersonal skills
