    Position Summary

    The Training & Performance Specialist develops and delivers training content, audits departmental functions and provides ongoing administration, analysis and support of AGIA's learning software. This position contributes to the organization's success through collaboration with Performance Improvement and leadership to design, recommend and implement enhancements that drive organizational strategies and continuous improvement activities.

    Essential Job Functions

    Design, develop and deploy online and classroom content as assigned.

    Meet with leaders to independently facilitate and complete the needs analysis process.

    Obtain approval of the training content design, materials and development.

    Develop training solutions, including course materials, handouts and activities that meet the requirements of the needs analysis.

    Pilot and implement training materials utilizing the ADDIE design model and conduct research to stay current on industry trends and models.

    Design and develop strategies ensuring best practices for training and evaluation are considered and integrated in all curriculum.

    Consider and recommend techniques for driving performance improvement through training content.

    Prepare and facilitate training materials as assigned.

    Research, gather and incorporate up-to-date information relating to areas of instructional responsibility.

    Compose and edit lecture content, handouts and activities for assigned classes.

    Prepare classroom materials for each assigned trainee.

    Route curriculum to supervisors for approval and make changes and updates as needed.

    Maintain a current and accurate knowledge of the subject matter assigned.

    Grade tests, audit work, compile scores and write progress reports.

    Maintain control of classes, create a safe learning environment, track trainee attendance, and cultivate professional relationships with assigned departments and trainees.

    Provide support and encouragement to trainees.

    Develop and distribute appropriate job aids as assigned.

    Develop a routine schedule to assess, update and revise existing training materials.

    Administer the Knowledge Management system, and other performance improvement systems for all users and performance improvement activities.

    Add and maintain pertinent digital content related to communities and groups.

    Communicate timelines and system updates to leadership and associates in a timely manner.

    Create and implement surveys and KM statistics to leadership to ensure effective utilization and usage of Knowledge Management.

    Assist with the development of process documentation.

    Facilitate personal effectiveness courseware as assigned including implementation and facilitation of courseware as prescribed by vendor.

    Maintain current certification status for all assigned courses.

    Support specific operational audit programs, special audits and/or special projects as needed and assigned.

    Implement and maintain tracking and reporting mechanisms to provide transparency of real time, actionable quality performance data to leadership.

    Support audit and reporting activities as assigned including consistently and independently invest a minimum of one hour per day auditing activities to improve quality trends identified during the audit process.

    Build relationships with leadership in operational areas to facilitate better communication and collaboration.

    Model and promote quality and continuous improvement excellent behaviors, best practices and approaches.

    Actively collaborate with leadership to develop accurate and appropriate leading key performance indicators, recommendations for improvement and methodologies.

    Provide data management support, trending, and reporting to leaders to support achievement of specified quality assurance objectives and milestones.

    Provide reports consistent with department expectations in regard to formatting and deadlines.

    Provide ad-hoc trend reports as requested or required.

    Provide analysis support as needed and/or requested.

    Identify trends and make recommendations of improvements reports against lead indicator targets.

    Take all other reasonable action to support local leaders in their efforts to improve quality.

    Support Performance Improvement activities.

    As required, provide subject matter expertise regarding point Kaizen, Case Studies, Root Cause Analysis, countermeasures and workflows.

    Prepare reports to demonstrate trends, obstacles, processes, individual and/or team performance, leader performance and any other audit work elements to provide visibility of sustained improvement performance.

    Actively support and collaborate intra-departmentally to achieve stated PI related milestones and activities.

    Qualifications

    Associate's degree or equivalent experience

    Minimum two years of training experience and two years instructional design experience

    Training and quality principles and best practices

    Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory and ADDIE practices

    Knowledge of basic insurance operations

    Knowledge of instructional design and facilitation principles and practices

    Intermediate proficiency in MS Office

    Strong facilitation and presentation skills

    Ability to command small and large audiences

    Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information

    Self-motivated to perform work with little supervision

    Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment

    Work Environment

    No weekend or evening work; Monday-Friday only
