    Job Description

    Currently seeking a Special Education GED Teacher for our AHRC Middle/High School in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn.

    Role Description:

    • Full Time | Monday-Friday
    • Hours: 8:00 A.M-3:00 P.M

    • Develop and implement individualized person-centered teaching plans.
    • Prepares daily lesson plans, in advance and on an individual basis, geared towards the program participants’ learning style and level of academic functioning.
    • Utilize relevant instructional media and techniques that will help program participants meet their educational goals.
    • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and encourages group participation to help each other.
    • Administer the TASC exam.
    • Write and submit monthly progress reports for each participant with DYCD.
    • Engage in case conferences, with an appropriate summary of participants’ progress.
    • Collaborate with other instructors when necessary.

    Pay: $79,760.00 - $81,411.00 per year

    Position Requirements:

    • BA or MA and New York State Certification in Special Education (Students with Disabilities Grades 1-6 or All Grades) required; experience in autism preferred.
