    Job Description

    AHRC NYC is looking to hire a Workforce Development Coordinator for their Manhattan Employment Business Services (EBS) programs. The annual salary for this position is $62.5k-$65k.     The Workforce Development Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of program staff...the Corporate Account Developer (Job Developer/Internship Coordinator), Work Readiness/DSP Certification Instructor and Case Managers (ECSC). In addition, they work closely with Program Director and DYCD to ensure compliance with the Advance and Earn training directives.

    ** Essential Responsibilities**

    • Develop and implement workforce development activities pertinent to reaching program goals and outcomes. Evaluate educational materials and technologies to be used in work readiness and DSP certification training classes.
    • Conduct staff training and orientation; arrange for internal/external training workshops.
    • Mentor staff to help them develop strong teaching and relationship building skills.
    • Work closely with Job Developer to build and strengthen community-based and employer relationships.
    • Develop marketing materials to promote program at career fairs, high schools and community-based organizations that work with opportunity youth.
    • Monitor staff performance and conduct semi-annual reviews.
    • Assess participant performance to determine what ways instruction can be improved or enhanced.
    • Review and approve employee timesheets.
    • Collaborate with Academic team to ensure a positive educational experience for all program participants and work together to improve / enhance that experience.
    • Maintain ongoing working relationship with DYCD.
    • Ensure that participant files are in compliance and ready for internal/external audits.
    • Attend management/supervisory meetings as required.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in human services, counseling or education is required with a minimum of three (3) years of workforce development experience serving opportunity youth.
    • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
    • Highly organized, creative and resourceful with ability to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to address groups both for training and community education purposes.
    • Ability to supervise staff, effectively evaluate and motivate staff performance. Support, direct and discipline staff as necessary.
    • Proven capacity to work productively in highly collaborative settings and to coordinate the needs of multiple stakeholders.
    • Flexibility to operate in a rapidly-changing work environment, with ability to adapt and be sensitive to the organizational culture.
    • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with staff, program participants, employers, community agencies and DYCD.
    • Valid New York or Tri-State Driver’s license preferred.
