    Job Description

    AHRC NYC is looking to hire a Fee for Service Registered Dietician for our programs. This position has a pay rate of between $30 - $35 per half an hour.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provides training for food service personnel and assures adherence to sanitary guidelines.
    • Provides training in proper storage and handling of food.
    • Plans and supervises menus and meal preparation to ensure varied well balanced diets in accordance with the recommended daily allowance, adjusted for age, sex, activity level and body
    • Supervises the maintenance of records of menus, special diets, conducts periodic paper-bag lunch check for clients bringing in lunch.
    • Completes a Nutrition evaluation on all clients in Day Treatment.
    • Involved in dietary consultation for clients, their families, or appropriate agency personnel
    • Monitors special diet plans prescribed by physicians.
    • Evaluates and/or prepares all nutrition education materials used for clients.
    • Responsible for continuous up-dating of these materials based on current literature and diet therapy practices. Provides instruction as needed.
    • Confers with interdisciplinary staff regarding total client care.
    • Involved in Individual Treatment Plans pertaining to those in need of nutritional plans.
    • Holds In-Service Training sessions for those staff involved pertaining to nutrition of clients.
    • Performs related work, as directed.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's or Master's Degree with major studies in food and nutrition or eligible for registration by American Dietetic Association or has equivalent training and experience and participates annually in continuing dietetics.
    • Specialized training or one year experience in treating or working with the developmentally disabled population.
    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, line staff and family members.
