AI Solutions Engineer — Cincinnati & Indianapolis

The Talent Mine is hiring two AI Solutions Engineers to join a Fortune 500 industrial leader — North America's largest recycler and a top name in sustainable steel manufacturing, known for exceptional employee investment and long-term stability.

The Role

You'll partner directly with business stakeholders and IT delivery teams to design, build, and deploy advanced technical solutions that solve real business problems. This is a high-visibility, embedded role blending strong engineering chops, systems thinking, and business partnership — with a focus on fast, feasible deployment of modern platforms, analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities (not long-term product ownership).

Expect up to 25% travel to support cross-site benchmarking, knowledge-sharing, and internal development, and the majority of the work will be on site in a manufacturing environment.  Be prepared to enjoy wearing a hard hat, steel toed boots and full PPE.

Compensation:

TOTAL COMPENSATION = $157,000-$186,000 broken down as follows:

• Base salary range – $120-$140k

• Annual bonus of 23-33% over the past 5 years!

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
• 4+ years in a technical role (Solutions Engineer, Software Engineer, Systems Analyst, Technical Consultant, or similar)
• Strong Python skills plus at least one additional language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C#, etc.)
• Track record of designing and deploying production applications, integrations, and data/AI solutions end-to-end — including pipelines and operationalization
• Solid grasp of enterprise systems, APIs, and data flows
• Proven success partnering with non-technical stakeholders: running discovery, presenting findings to teammates up to the executive level and driving adoption
• A humble, "get it done" project ownership mindset.  You love working in a team first environment and see your ideas to completion.

Nice to Haves

• Experience deploying AI-enabled or advanced analytics solutions
• Familiarity with prompt engineering, model evaluation, or agent-based workflows
• Background in enterprise IT with complex, integrated systems
• Experience partnering with external vendors/solution providers
• Exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, finance, or other enterprise domains
