- Perform structural analysis by hand calculations and finite element methods.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials properties and selection as well as processing, including Heat Treat and Coatings for aerospace requirements
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience in creation of design concepts using hand sketches, and CAD tools. CAD experience in CATIA (preferred)
- Perform basic measurements and simple inspection processes
- Support the development of advanced composite hardware and vehicle designs that include materials with tailored RF properties.
- Actively participate in development and production of composite components.
- Write engineering reports, typically to document analysis and test results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline, with a focus on Composites Manufacturing, Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a relevant design/analysis/development environment, preferably for commercial aviation.
- Experience with non-linear and advanced Finite Element analyses (3D woven composites) and structural dynamic analyses (sine, random, rigid body dynamics), including analytical techniques and numerical simulation tools.
- Knowledge of manufacture of mechanical components and assemblies with emphasis in complex electromechanical systems, or large structures.
- Experience with an understanding of the fundamentals of structural dynamics, multi-body dynamics, plasticity, and damage.
- Experience analyzing composite structures
