    The Data Systems Implementation Analyst will play a fundamental role in the development, implementation and use of the client services databases used by the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC). Because effective data management, analysis and reporting are key to meeting AFC's strategic objectives, the Data Systems implementation Analyst will contribute to the growth and development of the organization. The Data Systems Implementation Analyst will help AFC to implement the use of data throughout the organization, including continued customization and configuration.

    The salary range for this role is $66,000 to $78,000. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Data and Database Management
    • Complete the design and implementation of database systems customizations as needed to support programmatic needs
    • Support the implementation of database systems configurations as needed to support programmatic needs
    •  Support setup and maintenance of data system security settings for providers and users to ensure compliance with HIPAA and other privacy laws and policies
    •  Complete the documentation of data, workflow, and logical processes to support agency-wide data governance
    • Support the development of standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines for database environments using industry experiences, best practices research, and programmatic needs
    • Lead maintenance and upgrades to the database systems as needed
    •  Lead the development of test plans, test data sets and automated testing to ensure all components of the system meet specifications as needed
    • Complete troubleshooting processes on issues and error reports that may occur with regular data processes
    •  Lead the development and maintenance of data imports, exports, synchronization, and other data integration procedures
    • Support data entry, processing, and cleaning efforts as needed
    •  Inform the review, decision, and implementation of any new online or offline software or customizations for data management including transitions from old environment

    Data Analysis, Reporting, and Quality Monitoring

    •  Complete the design and build of queries, reports, views, and standard procedures from AFC databases
    •  Complete the design and development of data visualizations and other tools to clearly communicate data analyses to lay audiences
    • Support development and completion of tasks related to data quality and data integrity monitoring
    •   Support the development of quality management tools to support AFC staff and partner agencies, including performance, service provision, costs, and client outcomes monitoring

    Client Services

    • Support the development and implementation of governance processes to ensure consistency across all information platforms used by AFC programs.
    • Support formal and informal training processes for users of AFC databases
    • Support response process for data system support requests in accordance with service protocols
    •  Support response process for technical assistance support requests in accordance with service protocols
    • Support collaboration with AFC programmatic teams to standardize, update, and/or create data collection practices and tools

    Systems Quality Improvement 

    • Support collaborative efforts with programs and partner agencies to support the development of strategic, operational, and technological solutions for improving the quality of services delivered

    Other

    •  Assist the Data Services team on other Data Services matters as needed
    •  Assist with agency-wide activities as directed, including Annual Meeting, AIDS Run & Walk, and others
    •  Maintain and update job knowledge by participating in training and educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations
    •  Protect organization's value and manage risk by keeping information confidential
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION)

    Minimum Qualifications

    •  2 or more years' experience in designing and implementing database structures
    •  2 or more years' experience with SQL Server database administration and SQL development
    •  Strong SQL expertise with the ability to write complex queries

    Preferred Qualifications

    •  Bachelor's degree in computer science, business intelligence, information technology, data management, or other related fields or 4 or more years' experience in designing and implementing database structures
    •  Experience with data visualization tools (i.e., Tableau, Power BI)

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS + WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The work environment is representative of that found in a general office environment.  Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (35-40 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
