    Job Description

    Reporting to the General Manager, the Regional Manager plays a key role  in supporting the site managers within Maine and is accountable for the coordination and supervision of  all operational activities and leadership teams.  The Regional Manager will provide support and training to contribute to the success of the service sites and sees to the achievement of company objectives.

    The Regional Manager will: 

    • Work with Senior leaders to develop a business plan aligned to the corporate strategy
    • Work with the various site managers to ensure that procedures are followed and standards respected for the  Health & Safety of all employees
    • Participate and conduct root cause analysis when required, and implement corrective and preventative actions and ensure that corrective counselings originating from accidents, incidents, near misses of audit findings are completed in a timely fashion
    • Provide support to the various sites by answering questions and providing solutions
    • Train and develop the skills of their team
    • Collaborate with the HR Business Partner to ensure best practices are followed in the support of employees
    • Participate in planning, development and implementation of methods and procedures for operational efficiency
    • Oversee and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI), assess gaps and provide support to the various sites to achieve objectives
    • Provide excellent customer service to all external and internal customers 
    • Participate actively in day to day operations, if needed, be involved and understand the daily tasks of employees (‘’Hands on’’)
    • Perform internal audits
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Strong business acumen with experience in strategic planning, financial management and human resources management
    • A demonstrated commitment to collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders
    • Leadership with a strong ability to motivate teams, solve problems, and make difficult decisions
    • Good understanding of the market and customer relationship management
    • Strong analytic skills to analyze data and to develop and adjust business plans
    • 1+ years’ experience in a similar Operations position
    • Knowledge of the scrap metal industry would be considered an asset
    • Valid Drivers License and ability to travel cross border (Canada)
