  • Responsibilities

    Camp Lejeune Substance Abuse Rehab Program has immediate need of Psychiatric Tech available to start ASAP. Qualifications:

    Possess current certification as a Psychiatric Technician by the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians OR evidence of completion of Military Psychiatric Technician Training or Equivalent OR an Associate of Arts degree in a behavioral science, or a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related behavioral science field.

    No additional certifications beyond Basic Life Support are required.

    Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Psychiatric Technician within the last 3 years.

    Board certification is not required.

    Licensure/Registration is not required.

    Duties:

    Provide services within the scope of competencies, applicable duties in the basic contract, and additional responsibilities.

    Demonstrate sound psychiatric theoretical and practical approaches in providing patient care.

    Assist in the management of a therapeutic milieu, including providing structure, social support, patient education, safety, and social skills training.

    Monitor, escort, and participate in patient activities in the outpatient psychiatric clinic and outpatient programs.

    Utilize crisis intervention skills, including physical restraint when necessary, to ensure patient safety.

    Exhibit a basic knowledge of psychotropic medications, including actions, side effects, and common dosages. Administer medications following MTF policies and procedures.

    Screen patients to determine presenting problems and appointment priorities, assisting credentialed providers in identifying treatment strategies.

    Exercise appropriate clinical delegation of tasks and duties: Direct and coordinate healthcare team members, patient care, and clinic activities.

    Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program: Conduct necessary medical examinations, document findings, and report as directed.

    Participate in providing in-service training: Offer training and clinical guidance to clinic staff members, including government employees such as hospital corpsmen and students.

    Schedule:

    8 hour shift

    Day shift

    Monday to Friday

    No weekends
