    Overview: AIMS Locum Tenens, a healthcare staffing company specializing in federal government contracting, is seeking experienced Pharmacy Technicians for an upcoming contract bid at Brooke Army Medical Center. The successful candidates will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical services in adherence to TJC (The Joint Commission) Standards and military medical professional standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Basic Services (Shared Duties):

    Receive and review prescriptions for a full range of pharmaceuticals, including controlled drugs, on the pharmacy formulary.

    Assess patient responses to prescription or non-prescription drugs and follow established agreements and MTF (Medical Treatment Facility) protocols.

    Coordinate with prescribers to clarify dosing, interactions, or instructions as needed.

    Prepare replenishment orders, receive incoming stock, and ensure proper stock rotation.

    Coordinate stock level changes based on demand and seasonal requirements.

    Enter medication orders into an electronic healthcare system and review orders for allergies, interactions, and duplicates.

    Perform standard assays on finished products, verify ingredients, and ensure proper labeling.

    Operate, maintain, and assist with common and specialized pharmacy equipment.

    Outpatient Pharmacy Technician Duties (Additional Responsibilities):

    Enter prescriptions into the outpatient computer system, review profiles for allergies and interactions.

    Prepare package labels, visually inspect medications, and verify correct medication dispensed.

    Coordinate final checks with supervising government pharmacist(s).

    Provide patient instruction on proper medication use.

    Assist in conducting medication storage area inspections.

    Review stock levels and assist with laboratory test orders.

    Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Duties (Additional Responsibilities):

    Prepare sterile products and perform pharmaceutical calculations.

    Ensure strict adherence to sterile procedures and equipment maintenance.

    Receive, review, prepare, and fill physician orders for intravenous (IV) solutions.

    Perform parenteral and inpatient unit dose orders.

    Assess metabolic needs and order therapeutic enteral or parenteral nutrition products.

    Research and prepare master formulas for compounding.

    Participate in quality assurance data collection and review.

    Monitor and manage pharmacotherapy practices requiring adjustments.

    Assist with controlled substance orders and processing.

    Oncology Pharmacy Technician Duties (Additional Responsibilities):

    Complete all shared, outpatient, and inpatient pharmacy technician duties.

    Compound and dispense medications for chemotherapy patients.

    Safely handle, prepare, store, and dispose of hazardous medications.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program.

    Active Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT).

    1 year working as a Pharmacy technician in past 5 years

    Prior experience in a healthcare or military pharmacy setting is highly preferred.

    Strong attention to detail and adherence to pharmacy regulations.

    Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

    Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.

    Pay rate $20+ $4.57 for Health &Welfare
