Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for managing the finance and managerial accounting functions by providing information that will assist management, owners and other users in making informed decisions about the company's performance and future.This position is responsible for effective communications with various internal and external resources including Executive Leadership, Sales, Procurement, Customer Service and Operations as well as various vendors and suppliers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manage accounting functions and financial reporting for growing company with multiple legal entities and business units. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, A/P, A/R, payroll, cash management, bank reconciliations, month/quarterly/ year end closes, budgeting and regulatory compliance.
· Provide leadership to accounting department personnel including; managing performance, training, coaching, and discipline.
· Comply with all governmental reporting requirements and with GAAP for required entities.
· Work with all levels of management to establish and monitor internal control systems to ensure accurate financial and managerial reporting.
· Collaborate with CFO to provide accurate and timely data to facilitate organizational financial and managerial reporting needs.
· Support Operations Management in various projects for plant and operating cost analysis and studies.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
· CPA preferred
· 10 years accounting experience with at least 5 years leading an accounting department and performing supervisory responsibilities (performance management, managing, hiring, coaching, discipline, etc.)
· Experience in light manufacturing environments
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work with all levels of employees and management.
· Personal Effectiveness/Credibility
· Proficiency with Accounting/ Business Management software and Excel.
· Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects with a high degree of effectiveness with an ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities
· Ability to take initiative and solve problems a must.
