Job Description

The Sourcing Specialist will be primarily responsible for assisting the company in creating strong relationships with suppliers and maintaining the existing ones. The Sourcing Specialist’s main responsibilities would be to work alongside the New Product development team and Sales department in sourcing goods, materials, and services at competitive prices and maximize profitability. In addition, the Sourcing Specialist would be crossed trained in the purchasing for all business units allowing them to fully understand the company’s suppliers while providing a back-up source for all buyers.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain and grow existing vendor relationships as well as working to establish new sources as needed
• Work directly with New Project Engineers in the sourcing of new materials or components for potential projects
• Obtain multiple quotes from different suppliers
• Assess quotes and compile a detailed breakdown of cost associated with each supplier
• Negotiate price, quantity and delivery schedules with suppliers
• Provide ideas/solutions to improve overall spending and sourcing
• Provide day to day support for Sales staff

Job Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year recent experience in a Sourcing Specialist role
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, written communication and follow-up skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects with a high degree of effectiveness with an ability to work independently under pressure an react quickly to changing priorities
• Strong negotiating, analytical and planning skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced ever changing environment
• Proficiency in basic computer applications
