Job Description

My client, a Northern, VA based Defense Contractor, provides global Wide Area Networks for government customers. These top-secret positions provide critical support to National Priority programs. They are looking for EXPERIENCED AND JUNIOR NETWORK ENGINEERS as they grow their team.

The ideal candidate will have core competences in network engineering (Cisco/Juniper). Ideally, they will also have experience with configuring and troubleshooting firewalls, MPLS (L2/L3 VPNs), EVPN, VPLS, and other core WAN protocols. Individuals will need to be willing to travel up 60% CONUS and OCONUS. All qualified candidates will also have an active security clearance- ideally a TSSCI.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Perform network equipment installation, cutover, testing, and site acceptance

· Work with base personnel to isolate and resolve complex network problems

· Ensure complete cutover of network functionality

· Hands-on, willing to do what it takes to get the job completed, correctly

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must possess an active DoD Top Secret security clearance or higher

· Must have experience doing installations and cutovers

· Must be willing to travel 60% (within United States and to other countries)

· Security+ certification required

· Experience in VLAN, ACL, IP/DHCP, and Cisco Software and Routing

· Excellent customer-facing skills

· MUST BE fully vaccinated AGAINST COVID-19

HIGHLY DESIRED:

· CCNA/JNCIA certification (desired current or previously held)

· Certification in Cisco/Juniper Software and Routing, ACL, VLAN, IP/DHCP

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Highly motivated, self-starter and team player with a high energy level and willingness to aggressively take on responsibility

· Demonstrated ability to approach job responsibilities with a focus on process improvement

· Excellent computer knowledge and experience

· Able to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management

· Sound technical experience in assessing network support requirements as well as conducting required administrative tasks required for the projects

· Strong verbal and writing skills
