As an occupational therapist (OT) who works in home care, you are responsible for giving people assistance and rehabilitation services in their own homes. Conducting assessments, creating individualized treatment plans, implementing therapeutic interventions, fostering independence and functional abilities, recommending adaptive equipment and providing training on its use, educating clients and caregivers, working with other healthcare professionals, tracking progress, and offering caregiver support are some of their main duties.

Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine patients' needs and abilities.
Offer cost-effective treatments that help improve clients’ motion and mobility
Create individualized treatment plans while ensuring to address the specific patients goals and needs
Provide alternatives to surgery and lessen the need for medication
Create care plans utilizing a range of therapeutic modalities
Make fitness and wellness-focused programs that are suited to the needs of patients. Deliver high-quality, individualized, and proven sound care and interventions.
Coordination of care: work effectively with caregivers, family members, and medical professionals.
Patient progress should be tracked, documented, and treatment plans should be modified as needed.
Motivate patients during treatment in order to help them function optimally
Instruct patients and their families on how to manage everyday activities, optimize independence, and prevent injury. They offer advice on ways to save energy, reduce falls, and take safety precautions around the house.
Educate and train family caregivers so they can support and help in everyday activities and rehabilitation activities.
evaluate the need for modifications, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology in the home environment to promote clients' independence and safety.
Aim to restore and improve abilities needed for daily tasks like dressing, bathing, preparing food, and managing a home. Additionally, they might focus on cognitive and perceptual abilities, including recall, problem-solving, and safety awareness.
Requirements:
Occupational therapy bachelor's or master's degree.
Occupational therapy New Jersey license
experience working in a clinical or hospital environment
Skills:
strong interpersonal and communication skills.
knowledge of electronic medical documentation and records.
Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
Strong leadership and supervisory skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Applicants must possess basic computer operating skills.
