Albuquerque City Drug (a FarmaKeio NM company) is seeking a part-time staff pharmacist. This is not your standard retail pharmacy position. The primary responsibility of the staff pharmacist is to lead daily workflow functions, provide patient counseling, utilize clinical expertise to ensure proper medication therapy, ensure compliance with facility standard operation procedures (SOPs), and adherence to state and federal regulations, and directly supervise pharmacy staff on shift. Reports directly to the Pharmacy Manager, Director of Operations, or VP of Pharmacy. Work Schedule: Flexible schedule of 15 to 30 hours per week within the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Morning start is preferred. Compensation: Competitive hourly DOE. Responsibilities: Pharmacist Major Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to): • Maintain licensure in good standing with all applicable states • Maintain professional competence for all duties performed • Liaison with the quality department • Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulatory agencies • Receive and reduce to writing any verbal prescription orders • Perform duties in compliance with SOPs and best practices • Interpret and clarify prescription orders with the prescribing practitioner as necessary • Input patient and prescription information and/or supervise such work as performed by others • Offer information and advice as appropriate to prescribers, other healthcare professionals, and other employees • Create and/or check for accuracy and safety of prescription, compounding, and shipment paperwork • Perform in-process and final checks of retail and compounded products • Directly supervise technicians and other employees involved in day-to-day pharmacy operations • Counsel and advise patients and caregivers concerning dispensed prescriptions • Provide patients with OTC recommendations • Prescribe and administer immunizations • Interact politely and effectively with patients, practitioners and others • Perform as needed all duties of pharmacy technicians Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in pharmacy from an accredited US College of Pharmacy and licensed in the state of New Mexico • Obtaining licensure in other states may be required to fulfill state-specific regulatory obligations • Experience in retail or compounding pharmacy • Proven effective verbal and written communication skills • Superior customer service and interpersonal skills • Organizational skills • Accountability • Integrity • Strong computer skills • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods of time and shall have no allergies to chemicals that might be used during compounding Preferred Qualifications: • Passionate about integrative, regenerative, and functional medicine • ComputerRx and/or LifeFile software experience • Independent pharmacy experience • Ability to think outside the box • Knowledge of drug cost and drug plan reimbursements • Bilingual in English and Spanish • IT experience
