    Job Description

    Title: Technical Trainer Location: Remote (United States) Clearance Level: None (must meet and maintain a favorable background investigation to obtain a Public Trust) Summary/Description: ALEX - Alternative Experts is now hiring a skilled Technical Trainer responsible for providing virtual software training for government employees across the United States. Currently in a virtual setting, this will transition to involve regular travel to various training sites across the US for approximately 2 weeks at each location. Periodic reporting to customer site in Falls Church, VA is required.

    Specific duties include but are not limited to:

    • Reviewing project documents, training materials, policies, and standards of conduct and behavior.
    • Collaborating with training staff to deliver technical training sessions.
    • Ability to work individually and as part of a group.
    • Collaborating with SME Subject Matter Experts to identify audience’s training needs.
    • Creating visual aids such as audio, video simulation, and e-learning modules.
    • Developing course content, designing presentations/elements/modules, and presenting training programs for customer and program employees.
    • Identifying best methods of training delivery based upon training needs.
    • Instructing trainers and co-facilitating on-site training sessions.
    • Following principles of hands-on experiential learning in designing technical training.
    • Using agency adopted design and presentation formats throughout the project.
    • Developing working relationships with training & travel staff as well as agency staff at training locations.
    • Developing and submitting periodic reports in a timely manner.
    • Submitting technical training reports and documenting all lessons and activities for use in the future.
    • Contributing to deployment, setup, configuration, and operation of training equipment.
    • Following policies, procedures, and guidelines for professional trainer behavior.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • U.S. citizenship.
    • Experience delivering technical training sessions.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Experience with Captivate.
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher and 2+ years of recent technical training experience.
    • 2+ years of experience managing a Learning Management System.
    • 5+ years of experience with adult learning techniques and creating lesson plans/curricula.
    • 5+ years designing and facilitating IT training sessions.

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

    • Candidate located in National Capital Region.
    • Ability to work in an Agile Project Management Environment.
    • Familiarity with the ADDIE Instructional Design Process.
    • Experience supporting federal or state court systems.
    • Training certification.

    Education and Certifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Communications Technology, Adult Learning, Industrial Design, IT, education, or related.

     

    In order to comply with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the pay range for this role is $83,000 to $85,000.
