    ALFA International, headquartered in Armonk, NY has an immediate opening for a Sales Representative. In this search, we seek a critical member to be a part of ALFA's Sales/Customer Development Team, which is driven to serve and support ALFA's customers' business needs. If you have Hospitality, Food Service, and/or sales experience, and love the industry, we'd love to consider your application for this position at ALFA. You will be responsible for closing sales with new and existing customers.

    Founded in 1938, Alfa International is a leading national supplier of food service equipment and parts to Foodservice Dealers, service technicians, and national chain restaurants and supermarkets. We are conveniently located off I-684 (Exit 3: Rt-22) in the town of Armonk, NY in Westchester County, just outside White Plains, NY.

    The Sales Representative reports to the National Sales Manager and is responsible for making outbound sales calls and scheduling sales visits to existing customers and prospects. This position requires answering returned customer calls, order entry, and working closely with all internal departments to ensure the seamless processing of any customer's order. It also requires the upselling & marketing of ALFA products through calls, emails, and social media.

    Essential Functions:

    • Prospect for new customer leads.
    • Educate and sell company products and services to new and existing customers.
    • Provide knowledgeable answers to questions about product, pricing, and availability.
    • Display or demonstrate products, using samples or catalogs, emphasizing beneficial features.
    • Quote prices and possible credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
    • Estimate delivery date to the customer, based on knowledge of the firm's inventory and shipping schedules.
    • Close and follow up on sales transactions.
    • Reach agreed-upon sales targets by the set deadlines.
    • Network and build relationships with your new and existing client base.
    • Investigate and resolve customer issues and complaints.
    • Work with internal departments to meet customers' needs.
    • Work with Customer Development team members to ensure all accounts activities & contact information are up to date.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or 1-3 years related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience in sales preferred.
    • Valid Driver's License.
    • Strong negotiation skills.
    • Deadline and detail-oriented.
    • Ability to build rapport with clients.
    • Chain account experience is a PLUS.
    • Foodservice Industry experience is a PLUS.
    • Local & National travel required (Trade shows, Customer visits, etc.).
    • Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings, and weekends as business demands.
    • Ability to take direction & instruction from managers and follow up/complete in a timely manner.
    • Apply personal ethics, honesty, initiative, flexibility, responsibility, and confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.
    • Possess an enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented approach towards work and all work projects.

    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence including emails, faxes & quotes.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Experience with Chrome, Internet Explorer, Bing, or other Internet platforms.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software
    • Experience with DDI Inform or comparable Database/ERP software.
    • Fluency in Spanish

    Schedule:

    • Company hours are Monday through Thursday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm; Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
    • Ability to commute to Armonk, NY 10504, and to customers during premise visits.
    • Reliable means of transportation required before starting work (Required)
