    We are looking for an adept and seasoned Plant Manager to join our team at our Markle, IN site. If you are hired, your responsibilities will involve supervising and controlling different facets of the plant's functions such as shipping, manufacturing, quality assurance, stock management, and upkeep. Your input is vital for the prosperity of our establishment. Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: Production: • Manage the entire production process, ensuring efficient and timely output of wood truss and panel products • Oversee the plant's quality control program, ensuring that all products meet or exceed industry standards • Develop and implement production schedules, optimizing efficiency while meeting customer demands • Supervise a team of production personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure high productivity and adherence to safety protocols • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations • Continuously evaluate and improve processes to optimize plant performance and maximize operational efficiency Inventory: • Manage the plant's inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and accurate record-keeping • Collaborate with the purchasing department to source and procure necessary materials and supplies Maintenance: • Coordinate and manage the maintenance of all equipment, including saws, heavy machinery, forklifts, trailers, tractors, and more • Conduct regular inspections to identify machine malfunctions or maintenance requirements, taking prompt action to minimize downtime Shipping: • Coordinating with team to ensure efficient and correct pulling of items for shipment, ensure accurate loading of components • Collaborate with delivery personnel and carriers to schedule shipments • Maintain accurate records of shipments, including documentation of quantities, destinations, and delivery dates • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipments, such as damaged or missing items • Monitor and optimize shipping costs by identifying cost-saving opportunities • Continuously improve shipping processes to streamline operations and enhance customer satisfaction Qualifications: Requirements: • Experience in production management • Experience with wood products • Strong knowledge and understanding of equipment maintenance, including saws, heavy machinery, forklifts, trailers, tractors, etc. • Experience with coordinating and overseeing a shipping department • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to product quality • Proficient in using computer software and systems related to production and inventory management (including Sage or similar ERP – Sage experience a plus) • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Bi-lingual/Spanish knowledge is a plus • Wood Species Identification: Recognizing different species of wood and understanding their unique characteristics and typical uses • Measurement and Dimensions: Proficiency in measuring lumber, including knowledge of board feet, linear feet, thickness, width, and length Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 yearly
