    Job Description

     POSITION SUMMARY

    The Product Manager organizes and leads the company's product planning, development, delivery, and support processes through the complete product life cycle.  This individual defines product requirements, establishes business cases, and organizes cross-functional teams to attain product objectives and support the company's ability to meet its business goals.  They develop and coordinate launch plans and track the product's success in the market.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    ·        Building, enhancing and maintaining cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) products to support the automotive industry.  Specifically, this team manages the following products:

    o   REPAIR & COLLISION SOFTWARE – This software is used by technicians to evaluate, test and repair vehicles mechanically, structurally and/or cosmetically.  This is an online software product that contains technical content, diagrams, images and all information needed by the technical to fix a vehicle.  The product is platform for other products and is hosted on an extensive, complex set of infrastructure.  There are approximately 80K customers using this product suite.

    o   SHOP MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE – This software is used by shop owners and managers to manage the work flow and financial transactions of their business.  This software is akin to an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.  It includes the following modules:  Customers, Vehicles, Estimates, Repair Orders, Invoices, Credits, Business Reports, Customer Reports, Inventory Management, Parts Ordering and Configuration/Setup.  There are approximately 11K customers using this product suite.

    o   COLLISION MARKET SPECIFIC SOFTWARE – This software is used exclusively by Collision repair shops to evaluate each line item in their repair estimate for vital repairs, structural repair requirements and other compliance requirements.  There are approximately 5K customers using this product suite.

    o   REPAIR AND VEHICLE DATA APIS – The company offers integration products to enterprise customers and key business partners.  Through a suite of APIs, customers and partners can directly access data of interest through a programmatic interface and directly utilize that data in their own proprietary software systems.  There are approximately 900 customers using this product suite.

    o   MOBILE AND DIAGNOSTICS SOFTWARE – This software offers the flexibility to use the Repair & Collision software on a tablet through an app.  Also, the product includes a full diagnostics solution.  The app is coupled with a Vehicle Connection Interface (VCI) device to provide the technician with a professional Level 4 scan tool that provides the following functionality:  DTC scan functionality, ability to view live data, bidirectional communication to run actuations and perform systems tests, relearns & calibrations.  There are approximately 800 customers using this product.

    o   DATA PUBLICATION TOOLS – This software is used internally by the Data Production team to publish the repair data and information into the Repair and Collision products.  These tools are highly complex as the main functionality of the tools is to allow for the ease in converting and publishing data from many OEM sources, importing the data into one data structure that has a single ontology.

    ·        Work directly with customers, internal customer facing groups and technology teams to gather and analyze product feedback

    o   Document and analyze product feedback for defects to be remediated and new functionality to be documented and developed.

    ·        Drive the delivery of valuable, usable and feasible solutions

    o   Ability to understand complex systems, functionality, datasets, API services, data flows, etc. so that he/she can identify areas that need further investigation and definition to ensure that product development efforts will result in an effective product for the marketplace.

    ·        Set the vision of product development and create product roadmaps

    ·        Work with cross-functional teams to align efforts and evangelize the product strategy throughout the organization.

    o   Communicate competently and confidently in meetings with the technical team to gather requirements, elicit information on technical challenges and describe the current and future system functionality.

    ·        Drive the organization's financial performance

    ·        Partner with 3rd parties to extend product offerings

    ·        Write user stories and prioritize backlog based on product strategy and vision.

    o   Create detailed technical documentation and requirements that will be used by the system architects, developers and QA team members to make functional changes to the product.  The documentation will include technical details related to data updates, API calls, database structure, UI technologies (e.g. Angular), data flows, use cases, etc.

    ·        Monitor target markets and user/buyer personas of one's product on an on-going basis for product positioning, additional opportunities and assist sales with establishing a successful process for identifying target buyers

    ·        Assist cross-functional groups with product launch activities including but not limited to product demos, product training, product positioning/messaging, and support processes.

    ·        Act as a scrum Product Owner in absence of a formal Product Owner.

    ·        Communicate the product strategy, roadmap, deliverables, performance, etc. to stakeholders and C-level employees within the organization.

    ·        Help define product KPIs and participate in the monitoring and reporting of the data.

    ·        Attend release sessions and provide Go/No-Go decision within the process.

    ·        Perform Business Analyst responsibilities in absence of an assigned Business Analyst.

    ·        Effectively self-manage to create the product vision and roadmap, which will create significant value to customers & the company.

    ·        Constructively guide and motivate cross-functional teams and/or strategic partners working on product development to deliver value on-time and within budget.

    ·        Professionally and effectively communicate with customers to understand needs, elicit product feedback and share product information.

    ·        Communicate proactively, clearly and completely with team members, cross-functional teams, strategic partners and all levels of leadership to provide product delivery requirements, delivery statuses, impediments, product roadmap information and/or product performance data.

    ·        Use marketing data to analyze and understand US and international market needs, ultimately determining the best priority for the product backlog based on a data-centric justification.

    ·        Manage product budgets to ensure product delivery is within budget and communicate performance to budget on a quarterly basis to key stakeholders.

    ·        Consistently exercise good judgment and decision-making skills in performing all job responsibilities.

    ·        Serve as the product Subject Matter Expert (SME) and effectively support all sales and product launch activities.  Measure product performance for the company by managing, tracking and reporting to KPIs that are meaningful to the financial health of the company.

    ·        Consistently produce high-quality deliverables in a timely manner, self-assigning dates/times for delivery and meeting delivery due dates.

    ·        Create comprehensive, clear and accurate documentation.

    ·        Serve in whatever capacity needed to provide value and ensure a positive outcome for product delivery.

    ·        Consistently meet the values outlined in the AutoZone Pledge & Values.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    ·        BA/BS Bachelor’s Degree

    ·        3+ years of professional experience in Product Management or Product Development

    ·        2+ years of managing cross-functional teams

    ·        Professional experience analyzing data and gathering insights

    ·        Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs and data into requirements

    ·        Professional Agile experience, including story writing and backlog prioritization/management

    ·        Excellent communication and presentation skills

    ·        Automotive industry experience a plus
