    Medical Receptionist needed for Multi-Specialty Physician’s Office in The Woodlands.

    General Summary:

    Provide high quality patient care services, treating all patients' and guests with courtesy, fairness, and respect. Work with management and staff members in a spirit of cooperation and teamwork. Supports the goals and objectives of Allergy & ENT Associates.

    Selected Duties and Responsibilities:

    Follows office policies, procedures, and protocols as appropriate.

    Communicates effectively with other staff members.

    Follows OSHA regulations and the safety guidelines of the Practice.

    Follows HIPAA policies and procedures.

    Respects and maintains patient confidentiality.

    Greets visitors in polite, prompt, helpful manner. Provides any necessary instructions/directions. Informs appropriate department/person of patient's arrival.

    Completes necessary paperwork such as fee tickets, etc. Uses computer system to generate information necessary for billing. Enters charges for all services provided.

    Updates patient information, collects co-pays, provides any necessary forms needing completion, obtains signature as necessary.

    Maintains clean, orderly waiting room and work area.

    Answers phone promptly and in a pleasant manner and deals with customer needs expeditiously, such as making appointments, taking messages for the clinical staff, etc.

    Updates information in electronic patient charts according to policy and procedure.

    May perform specific Job Activities as assigned per office location

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Knowledge of medical terminology and general clerical procedures

    Knowledge of CPT & ICD-9/10 Coding System

    Strong knowledge in HMO, PPO, and medical insurance industry

    Ability to operate to a multi-line telephone system

    Computer skills to include Microsoft Office & Outlook, EPM & EHR.

    Must be self-directed and able to work independently

    Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.

    Education and Experience:

    High School graduate or equivalent

    Five (5) years of office experience required; prefer three (3) years medical office experience.

    Non-Smoking Environment.

    Some local travel may be needed to other office locations.
