JOB POSITION: Journeyman Tool Maker - STAPLES, MN

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Receive and review detailed drawings and machine programs for tool construction
• Review material requirements and availability
• Construct tooling as instructed
• Inspect and release tooling for manufacturing
• Any other duties for which I have been trained as requested by my Supervisor

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• 2 year degree (Associates or Technical degree in machine tooling or similar discipline)
• Minimal education to be no less than Certification of Machine Shop Training from a recognized state college or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication (verbal and written), teamwork and organizational skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize tasks is flexible, and self-directing
• Demonstrate a focus on Continuous Improvement, and promote that culture
• Understand the machine ability of different materials
• Understanding of geometry, trigonometry, shop math and calculator
• Able to lift up to 50-75 lbs. metal pieces and secure work piece in fixture with proper equipment
• Attention to Detail and Quality

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires individuals to constantly be on their feet. They must be able to stand for long periods, sit, walk, push, pull, bend, climb and be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Should be able to tolerate high and low temperature levels. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.

SCHEDULED SHIFT:

Monday – Friday 

5:30 am - 3:00 pm *All training will be on day shift, but company is looking to start up a night shift operation. If interested in night shift, please note that on your application.

STARTING WAGE:

$25.00 + $1,500 sign on bonus ($750 up front & $750 after 180 days)
