Job Description

The Oglala Sioux Lakota Nursing Home is seeking a reliable and compassionate AM Cook (Dietary) to prepare and serve nutritious meals for our residents. This position plays a vital role in supporting resident health, comfort, and dignity through quality food service in a long-term care setting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch meals according to planned menus and dietary requirements

• Follow standardized recipes, portion control, and food safety guidelines

• Assist with food preparation for later meals as needed

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment and work areas

• Comply with all dietary, infection control, and safety regulations

• Work collaboratively with dietary staff to ensure timely meal service

• Respect resident preferences, cultural considerations, and speciality diets.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking or food service experience preferred (healthcare or institutional setting a plus)

• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented

• Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform light to moderate lifting
