Job Summary The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the tracking and confirmation of all customer shipments, as well as providing on the spot problem resolution for any customer's need. The key responsibilities of this role are to provide clear and concise communication, troubleshoot customer concerns and to proactively monitor the movement of freight to ensure customer satisfaction. Organization and the ability to problem solve is essential to this position. Operations - Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends, all based upon the needs of the business - Maintain all shipment related paperwork - Develop strong relationships with carriers, customers and Amaco Sales Team - Work with customer contacts to understand their logistics needs - Manage customers' shipments and update Amaco's proprietary technology to reflect current status of loads - Work with Carrier Managers and Carrier Sales Reps to ensure shipments are covered with the best practical option - Communicate any transit issues to respective parties - React with sense of urgency to solve problems and look for ways to improve operational inefficiencies - Collaborate with team and manager to come up with ways to improve Amaco Operations Job Requirements - Minimum 2-3 years' experience in logistics and/or transportation - Computer applications experience including MS Office and Nav strongly desired - Excellent customer service, problem solving, communication and decision-making skills - Excellent oral and written communication skills; bi-lingual a plus - Ability to work efficiently and multitask - Prefer 2-3 years of experience in customer service duties - Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment - Strong attention to detail is required - Candidate should have the ability to learn various computer programs - Must have excellent PC skills and ability to operate efficiently - Ability to handle high volume of calls in a stressful, fast paced environment - Must communicate in a clear and concise manner - Demonstrated ability to listen and "hear" the customer's concern so that the appropriate response is given - Demonstrated ability to maintain professional conduct in a fast paced and stressful environment - Ability to work effectively in a team, people, and results oriented environment - Ability to handle difficult or irate customers professionally and calmly - Well-organized with ability to set and execute on priorities - Ability to be flexible with scheduled work hours - Must develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of third-party logistics brokers - Position requires extensive use of computer - Ability to sit in one place for long periods of time - Obtaining freight quotes for international and domestic shipments - Print pick tickets daily - Take care of all routing of trucks international and domestic - Create BOL's for all shipments - Complete tracker tickets - Serve as the primary AMACO knowledge resource to ensure adherence to key distributor freight programs/guidelines - Utilize distributor freight management systems to schedule and route freight within distributor guidelines - Investigate and process chargebacks from distributors associated with noncompliant shipping - Become a fluent Nav user - Ability to use and read a measuring tape International Responsibilities - Prepare documentation for international export shipments - Coordinating transportation for outbound shipments - Arrange export logistics - Receive from freight forwarders and track shipments - Provide import/export logistics support as assigned by supervisor - Manage logistics personnel and logistics systems and direct daily operations - Spearheading import and export logistics process, ensuring compliance to trade regulation for all import and export shipments - Work with internal logistics coordinators of overseas logistics solutions to ensure coordination between export and import - Prepare export customs and shipping with ocean and air freight carriers and consolidators - Prepare all necessary export shipping documentation - Plan international shipments through WMS - Negotiate and arrange international shipments with freight brokers, international carriers and/or freight forwarders - Prepare commercial invoices for all export shipments - Coordinate international truck load shipments - Follow up on all import shipments to ensure timely deliveries - Examine all necessary paperwork for export shipments and customs regulations - Perform cost research on logistics Competencies - Job Knowledge - Communication - Customer Service - Adaptability - Attendance / Punctuality - Planning / Organizing Physical Requirements - Long periods of sitting - Ability to lift 50lbs -100lbs - Able to walk for long periods of time Certifications - IATA - 49CFR - IMDG
