Program OverviewProduction Interns will participate in a 10 week long internship program in our New York Design Office. Students will learn how to monitor fabric, trim, problem solve, interact with factories, and learn about costing. This role requires someone with a creative problem solving mind that has a high attention to detail while working in a fast pace environment. During your internship you will be working hands on with a production team, participate in leadership roundtables and learn all about working at AEO! This will be a paid program and can lead to an exciting career at AEO post-graduation.This will be a hybrid program - requiring interns to be in the NYC area to work in person/in-office for a portion or all of a week based on the needs of the business.Start Date: June 1stInternship Overview Interns will be placed in a Production department within a specific brand/product category On-the-Job training with assignments guided by an individual MentorGroup classroom learningRoundtables with top level executivesSelf-evaluations to understand progress throughout programPre-planned events around New York City to get to know the cities that AEO loves to call home!Production Overview Extensive work in Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Drives, Gmail) Track and access weekly factory production status reports/ approval status report Communicate daily with internal/ external partners regarding style development, production and delivery information Adhere to the Time & Action (TNA) calendar; responsible for all sample tracking and to ensure on-time delivery of all development Sends out packages to vendors, tracks delivery Maintain and organize costing records Maintain and organize style information records Partners with team on garment cost, quantity, production planning, sourcing and delivery Interpret collected information, react appropriately, and communicate with affected parties in a timely manner Prepares and communicates the agenda for cross functional team meetings; attends meetings Perform other duties as required Qualifications Students are eligible after they have completed their junior year at a 4 year college or university Preferred majors include a Business Related Degree or Logistics Minimum 3.0 GPA required Passion for retail and knowledge of the AEO Inc. family of brands Understanding of trends and how they relate to the AE/aerie customer Strong business acumen through classes, internships or prior work experience Strong organizational, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting High degree of proficiency Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Gmail, etc)Must accommodate living and working in New York, NY for 10 weeks June-August 2022 American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer Primary LocationUnited States-New York-NEW YORKWork LocationsNew York Design OfficeJobProduction & SourcingShiftStandardJob TypeFull-timeJob LevelDay JobJob PostingMar 29, 2022, 4:15:50 PM
