    AMEX International, Inc. is an international firm located in Washington, D.C. and has over 30 years of experience in international development. AMEX is focused on providing global consulting services for major doors such as USAID, DOS, WB and MCC in the areas of monitoring and evaluation, program implementation, institutional/personnel support services, and training. We are seeking a smart and highly motivated intern to provide support to the Business Development (BD) unit, specifically to assist with proposal development activities in July and early August. The business development internship offers an excellent opportunity for the right person to gain valuable development sector experience. Responsibilities and qualifications are as follows.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct research to support bids
    • Conduct database searches to support recruitment efforts for proposed bid personnel
    • Prepare short-term consultant matrixes
    • Formatting: Proposals, Annexes and CVs
    • Develop proposal graphics and charts
    • Proofread drafts
    • Draft proposed personnel and sub-contractor letters of commitment
    • Other BD support duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Minimum Bachelor's degree
    • Dedicated, strong work ethics
    • Demonstrated proficiencies in formatting and graphic development
    • Excellent oral communicator
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage personnel workflow
    • Detail oriented
    • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities
    • Demonstrated proof-reading skills
    • Strong editing and writing skills
    • Ability to work in a demand driven environment with constant deadlines
    • Ability to work late hours when required
    • Strong professional acumen
    • Strong critical thinking skills

    • Strong interest in a career in international development
    • Demonstrated Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Fluency in a second language highly desirable
