    Job Description

     

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

    As a member of the Dean's senior staff team, the Assistant Dean shares responsibility for strategic academic planning, development, and liaison duties; provides advice and strategic analysis to the Dean on resource planning and usage and is responsible for achieving and maintaining quality of the faculty, the program, and the curricula for programs specific to VN Program. Additionally, this position is charged with helping to assure that the highest standards of instruction are met and that instructional technology are used well and appropriately. This position collaborates with offices and individuals across all campuses to advance integrity, inclusion; support students through retention efforts, advising student organizations, enhancing curriculum, and eliminating barriers to success.

     

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Serves as a member of all campus Program Advisory Committees (PAC), attends meetings and provides updates to the Chief Academic Officer.

    Monitors and assures program quality in the compliance College policies and with associated accrediting bodies; Ensures that the activities of Academic and Student Affairs meet the requirements of the Colleges’ accrediting and licensing agencies

    Provide leadership in all aspects of curricula, learning outcomes, assessment activities.

    Collaborates with program directors and faculty to create and implement an effective assessment program of VN courses; work effectively with faculty, program directors, and campus directors to improve and ensure instructional quality for VN programs.

    Directs and manages the instructional design and technology services of VN programs by engaging subject matter experts, program directors, faculty, and outside resources such as publishers and program advisory committee members.

    Collaborates with MIS, program directors, and faculty in identifying, reviewing, purchasing, and maintaining hardware and software solutions for instruction and assessment; provide leadership in the incorporation of instructional technologies to improve student learning.

    Engage program directors in the design and implementation of professional development programs for faculty in the use of instructional technology and related support services, including evaluation/assessment procedures to ensure effective teaching and learning.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Earned Master’s degree in Nursing required

    Teaching experience three (3) years

    Higher Education supervisory experience three (3) years

     

    Final salary is per employer discretion and commensurate with experience.
