About the Role:

Join the Warwick Valley Humane Society as an Animal Control & Care specialist, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the welfare of animals in our community. This exciting position offers a unique opportunity to work hands-on with animals while promoting responsible pet ownership and safety.

Responsibilities:

Respond to calls regarding stray, lost, or injured animals in the Warwick/Chester area.

Conduct field investigations and enforce animal welfare laws and local dog ordinances

Provide care, feeding, and medical attention to animals in the shelter.

Maintain accurate records of animal intake, adoptions, and incident reports.

Educate the public on responsible pet ownership and animal care.

Ensure a clean and safe environment for all animals in the facility.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in animal care is a plus.

Experience in animal care, control, or welfare is preferred.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.

Knowledge of local animal laws and regulations.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Team-oriented with a passion for animal welfare and community service.
