Job Description:
West Star Aviation is currently hiring a skilled and dependable AOG (Aircraft on Ground) Mechanic for our Chattanooga, Tennessee location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering rapid-response maintenance services to grounded aircraft, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to AOG calls on short notice, diagnosing and resolving mechanical and systems issues in the field.
Perform on-site troubleshooting, inspections, maintenance, and repairs in accordance with FAA regulations and OEM guidelines.
Accurately upload maintenance work orders, service documentation, and job completion details into West Star’s maintenance management system — computer literacy is required.
Complete all logbook entries and parts usage reports with precision and compliance.
Reference aircraft manuals, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and engineering documents to ensure all repairs meet technical standards.
Interact directly with customers, dispatch, and internal teams to provide clear communication and timely updates.
Travel as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to respond to urgent maintenance needs.
Maintain service vehicles, tools, and equipment in a safe and professional condition.
Aircraft Experience:
Candidates should have hands-on experience or strong familiarity with the following aircraft categories and models:
Light Jets: Phenom 300
Midsize Jets: Citation XLS/XLS+, Praetor 500, Citation Sovereign, Citation Latitude
Super-Midsize Jets: Citation Longitude, Challenger 350, Challenger 650, Citation Ascend
Large Jets: Falcon 2000EX
Ultra-Long Range Jets: Global 5000/5500, Global 6000, Global 7500
Qualifications:
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
Minimum of 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience, with prior AOG or mobile service experience preferred.
Ability to work independently in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.
Must be computer literate and proficient in digital maintenance platforms and documentation.
Strong knowledge of business jet maintenance practices and troubleshooting.
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks and drug testing.
Availability to travel and work flexible hours, including after-hours and weekends.
Work Environment:
Field-based work in varied environments and weather conditions.
Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, standing, and working in tight spaces.
Travel is frequent, both locally and occasionally across the region.
Must be authorized to work in the USA.
